It represents the five continents: Australia,Africa,America,Asia, and Europe...Some suggest that each color stands for a particular continents but has not been confirmed...The ring first appeared on the olympic flag in 1913, designed by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern olympiads...
