What do you think the Mens US Olympic team did wrong?

After I had a couple of days to digest the loss and the utter failure of the US team i have my answers. I was only able to watch 2 of the games, Japan and Nigeria. I will say they played much better against Nigeria.

Japan completely dominated the US and Nigeria was almost like watching a bunch of sunday rec players. This team is probably the most under achieving teams we have produced so far.

The play is great up until they have to shoot, make a decent pass, or set up a shot. I was so frustrated to watch them continually pass the ball to the opposing player.

The fact that a player elbows another 3 minutes into the game of your lifetime. Putting in a rocket of a player with 10 minutes to go as in Davies. Just poor preparation and coaching.

The US has to learn to close the door when they are in position too. until then they will be laughed at and not taken seriously. I keep hoping, but the US keeps disappointing.

Soccer isn't as popular in USA as it is in other countries.  I think that we should just give up on soccer and let all the other countries have fun kicking they're ball around and running in all directions aimlessly....

There are three things that hurt them.

1.  Quit with the stupid fouls and cars

2.  Require everyone to play in Europe.  I know this spits in the face of MLS but the training they recieve there is poor in comparison.

3  The coaching is horrible.  From tactics to subs all of the games were mismanaged.  

I would say this is also a problem with the Men's National team.  They need an experienced coach from Europe to come in.

I'll be honest.  They should of never taken the Mexican player Orozco.  He got beat to death down the flank in the first two games and knew it was going to happen in the third, got frustrated and got the red.  Why would you ever bring a defensive player that plays in the FMF, which is largely regaurded as the worst defensive league in the world.  It just doesn't make sense.  Sasha was our other major problem.  I have never seen a CM duck out of more tackles or give the ball away more.  Besides that the US out performed Netherlands and would of beaten Nigeria, Japan got us the first half but we got them the second.  Edu just went to Rangers and I'm sure a couple other guys will get picked up now.

Mental mistakes were their undoing.  They lost composure in the closing minutes of the game against the Netherlands, and their only thought was to clear the ball aimlessly down the field, which gave Netherlands possession and chance after chance to attack.  Bradley picked up a second yellow card for time wasting, and got suspended, and that was after Adu had already done much the same thing---two of the best players suspended for trivial reasons. Orozco's red card in the third minute was inexcusable.  They played with heart and soul; they played with some skill and ability; but they left their brains in their lockers.  Live and learn.

DYNAMO NO WONDER EVERYONE THINKS UR STUPID, OROZCO WAS THE HARD NOSE PLAYER WHO GAVE THE U.S. SOMEWHAT OF AN AGRESSIVE ATTITUDE.. WHAT DID ADU DO, WHAT DID JOSIE AND PU55Y CATS DO? NOTHING THEY LOST AGAINST NIGERIA.. NOT BRASIL OR ARGENTINA EVEN THE DUTCH, NIGERIA AN UP AND COMING TEAM WHO DOESNT COMPARE TO THE TRAINING, SOCCER SCHOOLS AND FACILITIES THE U.S. HAS TO OFFER.. WHAT THE U.S. DID WRONG IS THEY WERENT PLAYING WITH HEART.. I SEEN LOTS OF TEAMS GO DOWN A PLAYER AND STILL FIND A WAY TO WIN THE GAME.. WHY SEND MCBRIDE HIS SUPER OLD AND SLOW, WHY NOT SEND UR HERO DONOVAN? OR LIL SKINNY BEASLEY.. THE ONLY GOOD PLAYER THAT U.S. HAD TO OFFER WAS SASHA FROM CHIVAS U.S.A. HIS THE ONLY ONE THAT PLAYED WITH HEART.. THE OTHERS JUST GOT TIRED AND PLAYED LIKE WHINNY GIRLS.. " OH OROZCO COST US THE GAME BECAUSE HE GOT AN EARLY RED CARD" NO LAMES UR STAR "PLAYER" ADU COST U THE GAME HE GOT 2 YELLOW CARDS SO HE COULDNT PLAY.. AND OTHER THING AGAINST THE NETHERLANDS THEY HAD THE GAME WON AND WITH THAT WIN THEY WOULD OF MADE THEM QUALIFY TO THE NEXT ROUND BUT NO.. THEY GOT TIED AT THE LAST MINUTE.. SO IS IT OROZCO FAULT OR THE TEAMS FAULT FOR PLAYING WITH NO HEART (BALL5)....   U SUPPOSE TO PLAY EACH GAME TILL THE FINAL SECOND..
