  1. It depends on the individual bird, and how much time you're willing to work with it. Some species are known for being better talkers than others, but that's no guarantee that any individual bird will ever talk.

  2. well they don't just start talking over night, you have to work hard with any parrot but the larger parrots like macaws and african greys learn faster but cockatiels and even parakeets can be taught to say a few phrases with a little more time... and are less likely to bite a hole in your arm

  3. Your Answer:

A Lineolated Parakeet would be a nice option for you!!

Lineolated Parakeets are like mini parrots, lots of parrot like personality, beauty, but in a neat little package..

they can learn to talk also and have very, very special personalities.

    they make great pets!!

you can find out more about them by typing in lineolated parakeet on your browser ..

  4. I have a  talking blue font amazon parrot I named Tequila Mockingbird.  Kind of a play on the Harper Lee book titled "To Kill A Mockingbird"

  5. Real good if you get a young African Grey.

  6. Well you can make your chances much better by buying a bird that's known for talking.  Like an African gray, they are number one on the list.  Then come your Amazon's, there are several different kinds.  Most birds can learn to talk, it solely depends then on that particular bird.  I have had a few budgies when I was growing up that learned some words & a few sentences.  Now I have a Congo African gray, his vocabulary is in the hundreds.  He says numbers, words, whole lenghthy sentances, names, sings songs, animal sounds, whistles different tunes  He is quite bright.  And I also have a Blue Fronted Amazon.  They are up there for talkers.  Mine though, doesn't utter a single word.  Nothing... She whistles a little, that's it. And she's in the same room as the talker that never shuts up.  So see, ya never know.  I have known people that had cockatiels that talked, sun conures too.  It's a gamble you take with birds.  Hope I was of some help...
