  4. Matthew Mitchum's gold in the 10 mtr platform diving. He was awesome against the chinese who were expected to blow everyone else away.

  5. The most surprisingg medal in the Olympic Games 2008 for me would have to be Steve Hooker's 5.96m pole vault jump, when he cleared the bar I think I nearly jumped as high as he did, absolutelyamazing, good on ya Steve!!!!

  10. There's been a few pleasant surprises. Stand outs include Awesome Silver win by Sally in hurdles- Cant go past that classic. Bronze then Silver in the 20km and 50 men's walk respectively to be the first Aussie male in something like 100 years to win two medals in the one Olympics games- and only being in two events!. And I'd have to say the double clinched Gold and Bronze in the women's triathlon! Yay Emma for breaking the Aussie triathlon gold barrier and other Emma for backing up the performance with a bronze. Great to watch.

  13. grants silver; it was a swim well done and he put everything into it you could feel his pain when he was being interviewed.

  14. Definatley the pole vault

  15. Andrew Lauderstein's individual bronze was the biggest surprise for me so far.  Good on him though.  I think it is great and he deserved it, it just surprised me.

  16. Mathew's 10 m diving gold with an olympic record score  stopping almost the inevitable clean sweep for chinese in diving

  17. michel phelps, because he is not not a whinging cry-baby australian.
