Odd question. We don't know, because there is no telling where the research is going. Most research is secret until the actual invention or theory is proven or functional, so there could be something just around the corner.

And it could come from any area at all. There's no telling what it could be.

I'll speculate.  I think that the next really big invention will be photoelectric devices that do not need a vacuum in the manufacturing process.  That is, a photoelectric material that can be sprayed on buildings to generate electricity really cheaply.

Its a hard question to answer because science takes some very odd turns. We landed on the moon before we made a personal computer... we made a dishwasher before we made a plane.... we created a tractor before we made a car. Science and technology take some very odd turns. I would hope that the next great invention would be a vehicle that ran on little to no gasoline. And based on some recent milestones in this process, I don't think we are far away.

Well, a car that runs on no fuel has been invented before now. Its been out for a while. I guess the main I would like to see is this become a popular vehicle. Right now it is expensive, and little places offer ports to plug your car in, and that is one of the main problems. But hey, I think we'll get there soon enough!

another principle to produce electricity (i don mean another source like solar wind n stuff) a total change in t way v produce current rather than t faraday method.

if u observe u wil c tht any source v use all it does is to make steam r water turn a turbine to make electricity. that requires change.
