I guess you have to be old like me to know that McDonald's is not that old. Why some restaurants in New Orleans are way older than McDonald's. New York, and even San Francisco have some very old restaurants too. Why there are lots of restaurants even older then me and McDonald's is NOT one of them. Yea, I'm well over 50 years old.

It's Botín restaurant in Madrid, Spain and it opened in 1725, way before Ray Kroc was even born.

Annie is incorrect, the oldest American restaurant that's still open is Union Oyster House (1826) in Boston. It's 39 years older than Bookies (1865.)

The oldest fast food restaurant is White Castle (1921.)

McDonald's got started in 1940.

there where thousands of restaurants across the world before America was put on the map- most English pubs have always offered food of some sort, and same with establishments across europe and asia
