There's actually going to be an investigation into the ages of the Chinese gymnasts. I think the truth should be exposed, but I don't think the girls' medals should be taken away - that would just be cruel.

  1. i'm hoping they do an extensive investigation of this because it's simply unfair to the u.s. gymnasts who are of age and worked their entire lives for this moment, only to be cheated of it. sure, revoking their medals may be cruel, but if the girls really are underage, then they are simply facing the consequences.

  2. ["Its just a medal anyways. Time to get over it.']

Just a medal,?????? that kind of undermines years and years of hard work, money, dedication etc.  I totally disagree with you as most Olympians and true fans of the Olympics would.

  3. When you are 14, you do as your told. Especially in China, because you know your family is as good as dead if you say no.

I am an obnoxious American, and I say we drop the whole issue. Its just a medal anyways. Time to get over it.

Edit: I see I am getting a lot of thumbs down. Well, when they do expose the underage gymnasts, I for one am not going to feel like it is a great victory.

I am an American. If you see my comments anywhere, it is usually me making fun of the snotty little Australians and their inferiority issues. I am very proud of our team, but I don't like bitter victories.

With all the doping scandals going on at this Olympics with the horses and the Greeks, Ukrainians, Spanish, North Koreans, etc. It tells me one thing; The Olympics are way out of control. It is no longer about bringing countries together, it is about who has the biggest d**k. Our athletes might be clean this year, but they know they can't compete with everyone else who are pumped full of god knows what. They will do what they have to do to keep up.

20 years from now, all of the gymnasts will be 3 feet tall, the 100 will be run in 8 seconds, and the swimmers will have gills and webbed fingers, and everyone will claim it is normal.

These little chinese girls, who are part of a breeding program and probably can't read or write because learning how might take up too much training time, will be sent off to a salt mine after the closing ceremony. Right now they think they are a champion. Give them that to remember.

  4. not trying to be mean or anything..but them girls knew they were cheating..if u cant follow the rules, no medal

  6. It's over and this question now has no relevance the IOC has looked into it and the Chinese have proven their ages so it's time everyone just GET'S OVER IT

  7. HI!

i believe, team china's girls were underaged. However, i STRONGLY think they will not be stripped of their medals (though i would like to see it). i think maybe, they will get some fake births certificates/passports and that will be that.

    sorry to disappoint you

  9. I agree, they do look young and they disserved those medals, but don't you think China would have properly checked their age and background before they got to that level in competition and into the olympics?
