  1. they were fined

  2. I think the punishment was that the government handed out trailers and checks to people without too much scrutiny, that the federal government has poured millions into rebuilding New Orleans and that citizens all over the U.S. have volunteered their time and money to help rebuild the community. Also, the dissenters in New Orleans were punished with housing allowances for rent and foodstamp money, also cash assistance and Medicaid, not just in New Orleans but wherever they were displaced. Another terrifying punishment that these dissenters had to endure was being moved to new communities (a.k.a. "rendition") where state and local governments are far less corrupt and the school systems actually try to educate their children and they are no longer living in places more dangerous than Iraq during the height of the insurgency.

I, for one, stand with those brave dissenters who have lost so much of their personal freedom, just for speaking out against evil Bush/Cheney Inc.

  3. having to listen to several hours of nancy pelosi speeches.  thatll do it to almost anyone.

  4. The ONLY good thing to come out of Katrina was that it helped to turn the tide of public opinion against Dubya and Big d**k Cheney.

    Better late than never.

  5. First Amendment, anyone? :o) This is Freedom of Speech.

  6. Why is it that when the midwest flooded nobody blamed the President and Vice President?  Why is it when California catches on fire like it does every year, nobody blames the President and Vice President?  They don't blame, they get busy rebuilding their lives and making things happen.....but not in New Orleans!  No, they sit around waiting for the government to come take care of them!  Sorry, I don't  have alot of sympathy for people who wait around collecting government money and then blame the government for everything!  Get up and better yourself!  Furthermore, it was up to the local officials to handle it!  Only when they asked the Feds for help, could FEMA step in and do anything!

  7. Who gives a **** about bush and cheney the people of new orleans have every right to speak out.
