What do you think the words "all men are created equal" were intended to imply?

    Now men or man now  means , human being or mankind, so everyone is supposed to be equal.

  6. I believe that part was written by Jefferson? He wanted to abolish slavery in the constitution but was quelled by Franklin that getting all the colonies to agree on independence was more important (The southern colonies wouldn't agree to a constitution that abolished slavery). The aforementioned quote in my opinion, means that hopefully all men will be equal someday.

  7. It's an idea from the Enlightenment.  Men are all created with the same desire to be free, to have liberty and freedom, to live their lives as they please.  In other words everyone wants the same thing, there are not natural 'classes' of people so the social classes of society are artificial.

    In the American way of thinking, it means that everyone ought to have an equal opportunity to succeed.  You don't tell a kid he can't be a doctor because his father was a plumber.
