What do you think these two names?

I'm not having a baby i just heard these names and wondered what people thought?

Evelyn Cai [or spelled Avaline and it means "little bird full of color"].

and

Olivia Reine/Raina [pronounced Rain but it means Queen in French/spanish]

I love the name Evelyn (spelled that way or Evalyn...not Avaline--that is pronounced differently).  That is very sweet and you could call her Eva or Evie..very cute!!  Not a fan of "Cai" though.

I also like Olivia Reine... although "Reine" is not pronounced "Rain"... it is pronounced "ren" in French (for the French word for "queen").  You could just go with Olivia Rayne, if you want it pronounced like "Rain".

Go with Evelyn Cai. Everyone and their sisters are naming their little girls Olivia. Chances are your girl will be the only Evelyn.

I think if you have to have that many explanations for any name you are asking for trouble, this "trend" of unusual baby names seems to have gotten competitive with little or no thought to how the children will have to go through life answering questions on how to spell them, or how long after they were named it was before th parents went to re-hab.

I think they are both great names. They are both more "Classic" names with a more modern middle name. Its a great combination. And I like the meanings.

My favorite would have to be Evelyn Cai. Great names, great sounds.

Evelyn Cai: eccentric, but it could work, depending on the person's character.

Olivia Reine: distinguished, certainly would not fit just any personality.

Olivia Raina: a bit too "adava kadavra" too my taste.

Actually, I might like Olivia Rain much better than the above.

Avaline Cai -

It sounds BEAUTIFUL.  Both playful and elegant, and it's not one of those names that sounds great on a baby but not as she grows up, either - it's unique and meaningful, which are important for me.

I love the name Raina, too.  Olivia's not my favorite, but it's growing on me.
