My 9 month old had a fever that lasted for 3 days. On the third day I gave him some advil, it brought his temperature down. Well today I noticed he has this rash all over him, the rash is on his neck, back, stomach, diaper area, some on his face and legs. I took him to the doctor today and she said that it was normal for him to have this rash after the fever. My question is do you think thats all this rash is? Does it look like it could be anything else? Has your baby ever gotten a rash like this after having a fever?

Here are some pictures of it

  1. I'm not able to see your photo's but I will tell you from experience, I have 5 children and anytime any of them had a fever when they were younger they almost always had some type of rash follow.  Sometimes it was from the heat of sweating out the fever other times it was viral.  There is not antibiotic for a viral infection it needs to run it's coarse.  If your baby is running a fever for five days and still has this rash then I would take him in again and have him checked.  If the fever is gone and just the rash is hanging around, give it a few days and see what it does.  My daughter is currently sick with roseola with a low grade fever and a light rash on her face, chest and back and that is nothing serious it usually goes away on it's own in 24 to 48 hours, that could be what it is also.  I hope all gets better with your baby and that maybe I have eased your mind.  Good luck :)
