  1. you sound too ignorant to actually own something that plugs in to the wall. I think maybe you should stick to your "Etch-a-sketch".

  2. A lot of TVs come with both HDMI and component imputs. Components are the typical ones you see with older video games (the Red, Yellow, and White Wires, although their are HD capabilities through component cables, just with more color coded wires)

HDMI, at least in my area, is what comes with my cable box. They also offer component cables, but you had to pay extra to buy them, and I've heard (remind you I've heard, not from personal experience) that HDMI delivers better quality.

  3. I don't know if you have already purchased the tv or not but if you have not I own a sony Bravia TV, If your buying one heres what you need to have  2 HDMI Cable outputs (this is necessary if you own a lot of components(vcr,ps3,xbox,etc...) My tv has 2 Hdmi Outputs(1080p), and 2 Component Outputs (these wires have 5 cables not just 3) If you want cable and purchase a digital cable package you can use either the hdmi cable or the component to achieve this.  If you have not purchased the tv yet I highly recommend you look into buying a visio TV, they are cheaper and my parents has a better picture than my sony, but when you purchase it make sure it has an rf cable input (if you play old video games or want to connect it to cable the old fashioned way), and definitly make sure it has 1080p Capacity (Just ask a sales associate if unsure) Most tv's with 1080p will have all the connections you need.  Sony has just come out with an OLED tv that is 11 inches and has a million times better picture capacity the technology is so new that the price is astronomical so in the mean time look for a cheap 4 year solution and save that extra money to put torwards one of those new super awesome tv's.  Well good luck

  4. Component video is color-coded red, blue, and green. That is similar to HDMI and DV-I, which means that it will give you a high quality picture. Remember that it is just video, and you need to have an audio source as well, besides the red, blue, and green component video cable.

  5. Component cables are NOT similar to HDMI cables, by no means whatsoever.

They are stating to you that all the other input options on the television do not work.  Honestly who cares what the definition of Component cables may be - just the fact the other inputs are not working is the problem!

DO NOT BY THIS TELEVISION - PERIOD!  THERE IS NO REASON THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING!  WHOEVER HAS THIS PROBLEM HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND LET IT CONTINUE TO BE THEIR PROBLEM.  DEFINITELY DO NOT PAY THEM FOR THEIR PROBLEM!

  6. Component input is a cheap input that, when used, gives you excellent picture quality. They usually come cheap, but I have never seen an LCD that only works on component input. That means that all your equipment should be connected via component. That is very inconvenient. It means that you have to buy component cables for all your equipment, since a little amount of equipment actually come with component cables.
