Babe Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees, by far!!!  He was traded for cash. It's still a swap that began the Red Sox curse.

I'd agree with Babe Ruth, but technically that was a sale, not a trade.

Some trades I would consider:

-Cowboys trade Herschel Walker to the Vikings for a boatload of draft picks they used to build a dynasty

-John Smoltz traded from the Tigers as a minor leaguer to the Braves for Doyle Alexander: The Tigers stink for almost 20 years, Smoltz becomes a lynchpin of the best rotation in history

-Cubs trade Lou Brock to Cards for Ernie Broglio

-Randy Moss to the Patriots for a 4th round draft pick - made that team almost unbeatable (almost)
