What do you think when you hear the name..."Alex"?

I have always heard that a name means alot. So, when you think of the name, Alex, for a girl, what do you think of? Honest opinions please. =]

It reminds me of my friend Alexandra.  I like it as a nickname, but not a full name.  Standing alone it would make people wonder if it's a boy or girl if they see the name before the face.

For a girl, a tomboy, kinda not good at school, draws like a 2 year old, VERY outgoing.

I kinda think of it as a boys name.

I have a sorta friend named Alex, she's really nice and pretty and very smart. Some girls spell it Alix, which I personally like better because Alex seems more like a guy's name. I really do like it on both though.

Sporty and smart....that's just the kind of girl that pops into my head when I hear the name Alex.  I also prefer as a nickname to Alexandra not Alexis (which reminds me of the tv show "Dynasty").
