  1. Uh... I see light broken down into the various visible wavelengths.  What do YOU see?

  2. I first think, "How beautiful." Then I sometimes think back to

God,s promise. He will never again flood the Earth.

  3. Yeah. Metaliic oxide salts. There were no rainbows 20 years ago.

  4. I remember the promise that the L_rd would never destroy all mankind again in that manner .

  5. I know it is a promise from God, and how beautiful it was.  Plus there was no rain on the earth until the flood.  So no rainbows.

  6. Well, i dont think about that, but i do think about the promise that God had made to mankind, and how he placed the rainbow there as a reminder of that promise to himself !

  7. Personally, I think "ooh pretty"

It never crossed my mind to associate rainbows with anything religious and I know perfectly well rainbows are naturally occurring and that there would be here regardless of that story.

  8. Leprechuans.

  9. I think, "that's cool".

  10. I think of the New Covenant.

    Yes, that's what I "think."

  11. Rainbows are a demonstration of refraction. There's nothing mysterious or special about them.

  12. When I see a rainbow it makes me think that God is giving us a very small glimpse of how beautiful heaven is.

Genesis 2:6 says, “but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.” Before the flood (Genesis chapters 6-9), the earth was surrounded by a “firmament” or canopy of water, creating almost a greenhouse effect on the earth’s climate. These are the waters that God released, causing the flood. It seems that before the flood the dew and ample water supply was enough to keep creation watered. The Bible does not specifically tell us whether or not it had rained before the flood. Noah seemed to understand what rain was when God mentioned it to him (Genesis 7:4-5). Genesis 2:4-6 mentions that God did not send rain on the earth until after He created Adam and Eve. We can speculate that it had rained before the flood, but, the Bible does not specifically say.

  19. When I see a rainbow I think of God's promise to Noah that He would not destroy the earth by flood again. That is why He put the rainbow in the sky.

  20. Actually there was no Noah before (or after) rainbows.

Rainbows are a beautiful part of the electro-magnetic spectrum, the understanding of which is a big part of the reason the living in the 20/21st century is enough reward not to want an afterlife.
