  1. the whole atmosphere would explode because pure oxygen is very combustible

  2. this is our planet

this is where we have evolved

if we live in a place with pure oxygen, we will, in my opinion, eventually evolve into beings that need pure oxygen to live

    edit:

i doubt pure oxygen will kill us cuz oxygen is what we need in the first place-but i doubt the air would be pure as we would have to give off something

    edit:

to the person below me, how could we cease to exit? maybe as we r today, but some form of us will remain

if u mean, because of the loss of plants, then yes but i'm sure we'd have other stuff to eat

if we migrated to a pure oxygen planet, i'm sure it would have stuff to eat or food could be planted on earth and brought to earth2

  3. that's good....since we only needed oxygen in our blood circulation and respiratory system and exhale carbon dioxide...

  4. we will all get high as sht

  5. if that has existed a long time ago until today, all living organisms could have lived normally since their bodies are already adapted to the oxygen pure environment. Nothing new will happen.

if that WILL exist, anaerobic organisms will cease to thrive, plants will yield less vitamin-rich fruits and basically, humans annd all others will cease to exist.

  6. I think the question is, what would happen if all the sudden all the air was replaced by only oxygen.

Well, the short term effects would be that all plants would die, because they breathe carbon dioxide to live.

Also, animals probably wouldn't live very long either because oxygen is a reactive gas, and you could see some pretty big fires and explosions once someone exposes a flame and flammable gas to it...  (remember Apollo 1??)

  7. All sorts of things would spontaneously burst into flame. Objects containing iron would rust away to nothing in months, not years. All surface plant life would die from the lack of carbon dioxide.

Now I have a question. Why do some people ask a question, and then repeat the question verbatim in the details section? Do you think we need to read it twice?
