Hopeful thinking aside, it will take years to fully implement a fuel alternative, what can be done to ensure near normal operations for most business?

  1. people will still buy gas. They will simply sacrifice some of their ways of living for gas. U.S. is a gas driven country. Most of everything runs off of gasoline now. Grocery prices will go up, as will everything else because of the fuel spike. Gas rules the country, not the government.

  2. you are lucky over in the states.in scotland we are paying £6.00 which is about $12. per gallon.out of that £6.00 the goverment take £4.00  $8. in tax

  3. PEOPLE WILL NEED TO REALLY START TO CONSERVE. SHARE RIDES AND STAY HOME MORE. WE ARE SPOILED AND DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE.

  4. I hate to think that! I will not be going anywhere at all except to and from work. Thanks god I drive by several store to and from work as well, that way it is not an extra trip.

  5. well, were going to find out.. maybe not this summer but the next

  6. What do you mean it will take years to find a fuel alternative?  They have!

Vegetable oil cars.  Lots of cars can be converted.

Electric cars.  check out http://www.zapworld.com Personally, I want the Alias.  Pretty cool!

To be honest, right now, I am looking for new tires for my bike.  I'm going to start cycling to work every day.  It takes longer, but it's good for you, right?  Sucks.

  7. Nothing really, other than those who are currently strapped for whatever reason(i.e. mortage, fuel, food cost)will be forced to carpool, buy motorcycles or take public transportation.
