  1. Homeschool is great! Many private schools are too.  The choice is your mom's.

  2. home school if you have a good program and you are involved with activities involving your peer group, =social interaction.

  3. omg i would die to be homeschooled!!! that would be sooo great!! you dont have to worry about peer pressure or doing your hair or anything. and if you really dont get the homework you can just ask your mom if she's the one teaching you questions right there at home! you dont need to even get dressed in the morning. and you cant really forget the homework either. if you were smart you would choose homeschooling. if i had a choice, i would pick that in a heartbeat. btw im in a private school. not great. the only good thing is uniforms. yes strangely i like them b/c you dont need to think about your outfit. but pick homeschooling! so much easier. i know this b/c my friend is homeschooled. so yea.

  4. Find out for yourself by researching the matter. I don't know much about private schools but I can offer resources for finding out about homeschooling.

  5. well -- if you are on the wrong track then home school would be better, it might effect your social life but if you are going down the wrong path then its definitely for you

home school can't be too bad-- its like skipping school but getting your homework everyday

i hated school so i wouldn't mind it too much

  6. I think any kind of schooling that would improve your spelling and typing skills would be a plus.

However, on the whole I think homeschooling sucks.

  7. Being on the "wrong track" so to speak involves making not so smart choices on the part of those who are going in the direction of what is considered the "wrong track".

It is much more important to get a good dose of parental involvement, guidance, and discipline to get back on track than it would be to change schools.

I agree that changing the environment for the better is always a positive step, but it surely will not produce the changes needed, since the person will take their attitude, and choice making with them to the new location; be it the home school, or private school.

In this case I would opt for the home school option since direct, and consistent parental guidance is the key to instilling proper values, and social attitudes in our children.

Ultimately it is the parents responsibility to direct the education, and upbringing of their children.

  8. My son has experienced Public, Private and Homeschool.

In order of what we have found to be best to worst:

    Homeschool

Private (used Abeka except for Math which was Saxon)

    Public

I could take up a lot of space explaining why I think Homeschool is best (for us anyway).  But, at the top of the list for us...

    Flexibility (time and priorities)

Ability to progress at whatever pace works

The homeschool community is very supportive and is, in general, a good crowd of folks

  9. depends on you and the program you use

the average homeschooler is 1 grade ahead of private school and 2 - 3 grades ahead of public school.

But that's only the "average" student, some fails and some do even better.

  10. from the quick assessment of your writing, private school is what I'd recommend. Assuming you meant "private" - don't know what a provate school is. Further, I don't get the impression that mom would want to deal with the learning curve (if she's going to be the one to do the home schooling.)

Nonetheless, I'd agree with mom: you're on the wrong "trackk"
