I think being runner up at least if you get the wooden spoon you get it over and done with.

What do you think ?

  1. Well at least the spooners get first draft pick next season so that is something...the Premiership runner up gets tears, disbelief, and a lot of grief...so I would have to say it is better to be the spooner.

  2. wooden spoon the eagles have never won it   yet!!!

  3. equally painful in the end , having a hope and losing at the final hurdle is a crushing blow. but slow pain throughout the season and knowing that your team will finish around the bottom is also.. quite dissapointing ..

  4. depends, losing the Grand final by over 100 points would be far more dissapointing than winning the spoon. At least if you get the wooden spoon you also get a priority pick in the draft

  5. EXTREMELY DISAPOINTING WHEN YOU ARE RUNNER UP.

Runner up means you had the chance but didnt cease it.

Wooden spoon means you got no hope but to look forward to good draft picks!

  6. Wooden spoon for me...It's humiliating to finish last.

  7. that is loser talk

  8. loosing the preliminary finals in 97' and 98' were dissapointing enuff. and ive been around to see the dogs win a wooden spoon, so i'd have to say the loosing grand final.

  9. I agree with you, at least if you get the wooden spoon, and in a AFL footy sense, you get to get the first pick. Being runners up all you get is to see the winning side celerbrate their glory. Although if you look at it in a positive way you are the second best in the league.

  10. I agree with you Molly,   if you win the wooden spoon, you know you've had a shocker of a year, but if you are runner up, you have had a 50/50 chance of winning the flag, bugger that, some blokes never get over it, they keep re-hashing it through their minds, what if i had of done this or done that,  could we have won if that didn't happen etc.

  11. i would say coming runner up is more disappointing. the wooden spooners' season is over before september, and have much longer to get over it.

remember collingwood losing back to back grandfinals!? now THAT is disappointing. and they haven't been to the grandfinal since! haha

  12. trust me, being a collingwood supporter, i know it is very disappointing to come so close to a premiership, and lose it!
