Overdue and expected, in my opinion, but not high enough.

Parts of Europe have experienced ten USA dollar prices to

purchase an Imperial Gallon.  Yankee dollars are growing so devalued that anyone stuck with just them as sole collaterial in International exchanges is likely to pay more for less in the future.  Canadian public radio said yesterday that cash is not

being accepted in some American fuel depots.  It all begs a

question about exchange values.  If most Americans today

act like a crybaby over a five dollar rise then what will they

do when an unleaded gallon price exceeds thirty dollars?

Personally, I think most Americans need to walk more to

get smarter.

They are being artificially inflated by the speculators. If the US government was to announce tomorrow that they were releasing one quarter of the oil reserves out onto the market, the price for a barrel of oil would plummet, and a lot of speculators who have been getting rich by fleecing the public would go broke.

The price of oil is like the "tech bubble", "the housing bubble", and the "mortgage bubble". I call it the "oil bubble" and eventually it will burst, and a lot of people will be jumping out of windows at Exxon, and Standard Oil.

I think that they are as high as they are because people will pay it. Everyone gripes and complains, but what are they doing, really? I still buy it, I have to, so I can get to work. If they can stiff us on it, they will. You have oil company executives who make many millions PER YEAR, but us little guys are suffering to pay that salary for them and not doing anything to fix it.

If you hate the gas prices, wait till you see the price of food after the current stockpile of produce is depleted and there is not enough food to restock the shelves... due to the massive floods in the midwest... Add to that the cost of diesel to truck it in and your likely going to see 200 percent increase or more in the cost of your food by next spring, if it takes that long to really hit.

Then add to that the continuing loss of jobs.. What I think is wealth industries ( Limousines, Yachts, Luxury Hotels, Resorts, Cruise Ships_... all these industries are about to take a sudden spiraling crash...the bad thing is, I make my living in the Limousine industry... If you're going to have to trim the fat to survive finacially, Limousines don't get much fatter, so I'm looking for my industry to crash soon....

I have an interesting observation pertaining to fuel.

We're being told we need to become less dependant on  foreign oil, we need to drill more at home NOW... and a whole bunch of other nonsense...

I say nonsense because of this; WE EXPORT a large portion of the oil we drill and pump out of US soil... You heard me right, and it is my understanding that we don't even see a drop of the oil we pump out of Alaska, it goes to China.

Now I ask you, until our own oil needs are met, WHY IS ONE FRICKING GALLON OF OIL being exported to anyone?...

It is because of this FACT, that I see another goverment perpetrated LIE!!!

I don't know what the hidden agenda is, but we're being LIED to...and that must mean that what we're being told is BULLSCHITT
