What do you understand about "Godly figure"?

My friend told me, if we keep in front of the computer like more than 12 hrs, everyday, the computer actually is what we called as "godly figure". We give more time to that computer more than our time for worshiping God.

It makes me thinking tho.

I do understand but this could be a a sensitive issue in Malaysia, when you talk about a god.

A Professor in Malaysia talked about this issue and was awarded death penalty by the court. as his students felt that talking about human beings or other beings as Godly figures could be blesphamy.

You never know anything can happen in Malaysia

if the 12 hours spent in front of the computer doesn't goes into something progressive (...like doing research for projects/presentations, completing e-learning assignments, etc...), then it might be, to some extent, a waste of available time which could in some ways be more useful or productive...

i think it's ok to spend some time online for casual means too... some people distress themselves by going online...

worshipping of God is entire another issue here...  u can still think of God regardless of where u are and what u are doing...  

the importance here is doing things in *moderation* ok :)

..wats in your heart...the one u cherish most....tat u luv and cant do without...is the Godly figure

...so if the comp is wat in yr heart...then tats it lah....

...u might be sitting in front of the PC for hours studying or working...but when the time for prayers come...u put yr PC aside and perform yr prayers...then yr PC is not the godly figure....

..but if u foresake God for other things...then those things wuld be your Godly figure...

I think people all over the world regardless of their religion try and interpret God's word the way they see fit.  Does the bible mention computers anywhere?  God created the world, and man, and is all knowing and all seeing....so wouldn't he see that someday man would make computers....PEOPLE....stop trying to interpret God's Holy Word....live your life, love one another, stop judging, and worrying about all these stupid little things.  Life is TOO SHORT for that.

i spend 10 hour a day infront of computer!(working time)

bt god will very happy d,if we spend just 5 minute to him,coz we still have god in our heart!

I wouldn't think of materials like computers (although I do work in IT field & face an average of 8-12hours daily) as Godly figures.

But if it's certain materials like those for prayers, I would say it's to assist in connection to spiritual beings/world.

If it's someone like Buddha, Mother Teresa & those that really made an impact to millions of people thru out the decade in the world. That is what I call Godly figure. Creating deep impacts in History what's the meaning of "Life" & "Humanity".
