Question:

What do you use to get makeup to "set"?

I was at MAC the other day for the first time, looking at their products. One of the clerks helped me pick out my shade by doing my make up. She used the studio fix all-in-one foundation, and afterwards she sprayed something on my face, telling me it would help "set" my makeup. I didn't think to ask her at the time, but I'm wondering what she used. Is there a type of cosmetic product that's specifically designed to make it set? If there is, where can I get it? Or was it just water?

  1. it definitely wasnt water, because then your make-up would run. some people just use hairspray, but if you have sensitive skin dont use that. you could probably google it, or return to the MAC counter to ask.

    best of luck!

  2. I know what you are talking about. That stuff is a toner I believe. I think its a rip off. It never worked for me. To get my makeup to set, after I apply my foundation, I brush dab on a thick layer of loose powder and let it set for 2-5 mins. Then I brush the excess powder off. CoverGirl proffesional loose powder works really well for this. For some reason this works really well for me. Good luck...

  3. what she used is fix+.

its kinda water and glycerin together. it has many different uses but it is good to set your makeup, and with only one spray. you can purchase it at MAC http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr... you can also use a loose powder like this http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr... to set your makeup.

for the fix+ you only need one spray and spray it at about arm's length from your face. it has other uses too as describe by this guy..enkore from enkore makeup. he talks alot but he will describe all the different great uses for fix+. i know alot of women who swear by this stuff! here enkore talks about what fix+ really is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMe4nioJu... and here he talks about the different uses http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyzT5VYOw...

    anyways, hope i helped.

  4. it's called fix+, and it has minerals and vitamins, it actually works really good. it provides skin with moisture and helps makeup adhere better.

my friend has it and i've been meaning to get it soon.
