  1. The best thing to do is simply monitor the incision - there is no need to clean it in any way.  And definitely keep her inside for 7-10 days. Just check the incision once a twice a day, looking for any redness, swelling or discharge - call your vet if you notice those or have any concerns.

  2. DO NOT put anything on the surgical site. It does not need to be cleaned. If there is oozing from the site, you need to take the cat back to the vet for re-evaluation. The reason the vet doesn't want the cat to l**k the site, is because she can get the sutures out. A really determined cat can do it in a half an hour or less. If the cat gets the sutures and glue off, the incision can open up and cause real problems.

Your only job is to check the site daily to make sure there is no oozing, swelling, or heat.

  3. Keep the animal inside and wash it with anibactirial soap and water.... pat dry. good luck!!!

  4. Peroxide is the best thing to use. Just make sure it doesnt turn red or start draing fluid. Dont let her l**k or pull the stitches out. Try to keep her from jumping and playing so the stitches dont pull out.

  5. It really isn't necessary but you can use peroxide on it and put some neosporin or a triple antibiotic ointment on it as well.
