  4. Easy Grammar! it is simple but Helps kids understand Grammar then They can move on to Shurley Grammar a More older one that is fun with repitition Jingles on cd! I LOVE it and I am sure you will to!

  5. Abeka!

  6. Winston Grammar is a great curriculum because it teaches the parts of speach in a very hands on method.

You need to buy the kit but it's very worth it!!!

We also used Easy Grammar. It was very easy to learn it all over again!!

My youngest is 23 and I can still name off some of those prepositions! There's a game that's part of Easy Grammar which is very adaptable for using when doing unit studies to re-inforce what your children have learned.

I used Easy Grammar with my second and third children and Winston Grammar with my youngest who was a hands on kind of kid and it really worked. I understood it better too, much better than when I was in school.

Do a web search to see which one would be the most appropriate or if you have a local bookstore that sells homeschooling materials take a look to see.

They are both avialable at christianbook.com.

These are NOT Christian books at all just the web site belongs to a Christian book store.

  8. Madlibs! I think its the only reason I was good at grammar in school!

  9. My 5th/6th grader has enjoyed the Operation:Grammar lapbook from http://www.handsofachild.com/shop/Search... we'll be using Shurley Grammar 6 to practice his skills for the rest of the semester.  Next year, we'll be moving to TRISMS, which integrates a full language arts program including grammar.  We'll continue on with this through high school.

    Hope that helps!

  10. I use what our curriculum, K12, uses.  They use the Exercises in English books from Loyola Press, but they also had a lot more instruction in.  My son loves the books.  They're neat because the exercises also teach biographies of great people in them.

We also supplement with Standard Deviants videos from the library and Cosmeo.com.  We have the 30th Anniversary DVD from Schoolhouse Rock that's also fun.

  11. I have my 5th grader read to me a few sentences from a well written book.  then i have her turn it into "bad-english" and do it again.  We both get a great laugh and she learns alot.  there are alot of excersizes available online also at education web sites.

  12. BOOKS,GAMES,WEBSITE.T.V.,

  13. "Painless Grammar" by Rebecca Elliot. PhD.

This is a complete hoot and humor perks up learning

"Grammar Rock" DVDs and Cd's are wonderful!  This helps with the auditory (CD) or visual (DVD) learner.

For the kinestetic learner, use refrigerator magnet poetry.  It is fun, and everyone tends to want to join in...

ABeka is solid, if not repetitive in grammar.  If you use this, make sure to also use a program like Atwell's "Lessons that change Writers" to make sure that creative writing is not sacrificed for rote.

Hope this helps!  It made quite a difference with my high schoolers...
