Question:

What do you use your journals for?

I have three journals that were given to me as gifts, but I keep an online journal and have no use for them. One I write poetry in and record quotes that I like, but the other two just sit there. What do you use your journal, or a similar kind of book for? Any suggestions? Both of mine are lined and hardcover, if it makes any difference.

  1. To jot down my feelings, ideas and anything else when

the power goes out and I need to vent. Sometimes I

will glue ticket stubs, or other little things I want to keep

    to help save a memory.

  2. You can take it with you when you have to wait, (like a doctor's appt ), and write to do lists, grocery lists, or notes to yourself. (Assuming you don't have access to a pda or laptop, obviously.)

Sometimes I'll read magazines and want to jot down a website or sketch an idea.

It would be handy to have in the car, in case you need to write something down, or need to rip out a page to leave a note.

  3. Pressing Flowers and Fairies ;))))

  4. I love home decorating magazines.  If I find something I really like I tear it out and tape it into my journal.  I have even added paint chips and a couple pieces of fabric.  I did this when I was planning my wedding too.

  5. I use one as a log-book (diary), and my other as a sketch-book.  It sits in my helmet-bag (man purse), and if I see an interesting building or object I always have a quick sketch.

    Both mine are unlined.
