What do you wake up each and every morning for?

Does it not sadden you to think of the mundaneness of life that we are all too familiar with?

Or am I far too young, at merely sixteen years old, not having seen the real world yet?

Is Life depressing to you?

Pardon me for my being rather peculiar in this question, but I am far too uninterested in the ever unchanging routine of life to carry on sometimes. I feel that I've matured faster than all my peers to be even interested in shallow fun and gossips any longer. Sigh, why have I withdrawn into my own selfish world of solitude yet again? I have no interest in anything else any longer. I have... Changed.

  1. yeah, I think every teenager goes through what you are at some point in time. you'll get over it. get into some after school activities. I went through this when I was around 16 too. I am now 24 married with two kids and pregnant. So, it passes and you'll be fine. I love waking up in the morning. I wake up for my kids.

  2. It's extremely common to feel the way you do when you are at that age. When I was sixteen I would come straight home from school and go straight to bed. I slept for almost seventeen hours everyday. I was depressed, my life seemed shallow and pointless.

Eventually I got out of it. Maybe it is because I'm older and have found other things to worry about. I decided to focus on living, no matter how awful the bigger picture looked. I had people that loved me and I didn't want to do anything to hurt them and that is why I focus on things that affect my life. It's all any of us do anyway.

  3. Get a hobby. Seriously, it helps. Me I get up every morning because I know I'll be annoyed later if I don't. That or someone else will. That's on bad days. On good days, I get up so that I can help someone, so that I can learn new things, so that I can play rugby.

And not to be offensive, you're mainly going through a "phase" it goes away or at least fades for a lot of people. I used to be like that actually (only a couple of years ago, in fact). Just find your own rythym, something that you feel you can dedicate your life to. If that's becoming famous, helping others, learning to do something, whatever you want.

People wake up for their dreams, responsibilities, or because they don't realize there is any other option. And, really, the only other option would be to die. And that might be worse. So I figure, I'll do what I want with this and whenever I happen to die I'll figure out something else.

    Excuse my huge rant.

  4. First of all, you have a chemical imbalance or lack of in your brain. There are three chemicals in your brain that make you happy. The first one is Serotonin, the second one is dopamine and the third is endorphins. Without serotonin you feel no reason to live life but that is normal, because there is no point if you have no serotonin because you aren't happy. Serotonin gets activated when you win the lottery, get a birthday present, and things like that.

Serotonin is activated when you drink or do drugs and plain out feel happy. Dopamine is activated when you get the sudden urge or drive to do something with your life, when you have a plan for the future and you have big goals, dreams, and a belief in yourself. Endorphins get activated basically when you are relaxing. Imagine stepping into a hot nice hot-tub and sitting down and going, "ahhhhhh," that's when the endorphins are activated.

Also, after you just have s*x and what not endorphins get activated. If all three are activated, that is what makes you and the world go round. However, in depression, the cause is simply a chemical imbalance. I guarantee the book, "Feel Happy Now" By Michael Neill will make you feel better, it brought me out of a depression.

Go ahead and just buy it in case you ever want to go back to it, it's about $15.00. If that doesn't help, which it will, go see a psychiatrist and tell them that you think you may have a chemical imbalance in the brain. However, because you are feeling depressed RIGHT NOW, that means, RIGHT NOW the chemicals in your brain are imbalanced or you have a lack of. But, in a few hours or tomorrow you could be perfectly fine.

You don't need drugs to balance your chemicals but sometimes if you simply want them you are allowed if the psychiatrist lets you. But, you don't need drugs all you need to do is understand how feeling depressed works. I guarantee after reading the book I recommended, you will feel better. :) Good luck.

  5. I wake up to live my life like God wants me to and to do whatever is in His plans for me.

  6. I went through that phase, in fact i think im just pulling out of it and im 15. I think that everyone at some point does, I wake up every morning to help others. as weird as it sounds, i think that the key to happiness is helping others. (sorry if it sounds cliche') in my way of doing that i practice guitar, so that i will get in a band, and communicate my feelings and views that other people can relate to, which will in turn, help them deal with whatever they are doing. whatever you love, do it. it may seem selfish, but its the truth. think of school and everything as just a portal for that, it will help you get to a point where you can just do whatever you love all the time.
