  1. First I am 31 years old now and I have change a lot compared to when I am 18 years old.

What do I want in this life?  I want to be able to live and at the end of my life I should see my past and say, "Not bad, I did what I could, today I am a better person than before."

Who I want to be? Like profession? Or person? In person I could say like Jesus but I guess that's too hard to achieve or even to think about. I would be a hypocrite to say such thing, considering who am I right now. But I guess I want to be like Rocky Balboa. You know at the end of the story you are a wiser, better man than at the start.

What possessions do I want? Not much, if I'm not married yet, I would try to have as little as possible.

Why? Possessions tend to become a burden after a while. After certain time you will be attached to your possessions. That would make you hard to give, hard to leave it when necessary.

With little possessions I don't mean little income, but how much you attached to things you have.

  2. I had everything, cars, expensivve home, trips, everything people want. But, i realized that it means nothing without love and passion.

I try to be balanced now. That works for me. I don't need it all now.

  3. You are only 18.  You are going to experience different directions in your life.  What I wanted, who I wanted to be, what was important at 18 is not the same now at 57.

I went from adventurous, materialistic and independent to more compassionate, content, and sharing as I became older, married, had children then grandchildren, got my degree and a career.  What possessions I wanted became what we needed for the household to planning for retirement.

You are at the beginning of your journey through life.  Enjoy it.  Share it.  And don't be afraid to change.

  4. I am the guy who never knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. I am almost 50 and I still have not a clue. But I have wasted 50 years avoiding an answer. Don't be like me.

I am hanging around waiting for the grim reaper. I am envious of most everyone and everything so I guess what I want to be is NOT ME.

My possessions are an anchor, holding me down. When I die they will scatter like autumn leaves.

What I want is to not have to work.

  5. ... take a chance and march in the parade.
