What do you wear on an Alaskan cruise in September?

I'm not a dressy person, first of all. Leaving Seattle on 9/7, and going to Alaska. I have no idea what to wear -- I've checked the weather and all, but it's hard to figure out what to take with me when it's in the 90s here.

Suggestions????

  1. a something warm, and why in the heck are you goin on a Alaska cruise, in September??

  2. My wife and I went on that crusie last year and I recommend warm clothing.  It will probably be nice in Seattle but as soon as you get to the Inside Passage it will be overcast and cooler all the time.  Temperatures will most likely be low 50's F to mid 60's F.  Most likely it will rain half the time.  Having said this it was still the most beautiful cruise I have been on.  The glaciers were spectacular and there is something to see all the time.  Have a great time.

  3. We went in May and it was cold.  I had a hard time packing also.  Plan to dress in layers.  You will definitely need a coat.  I brought t-shirts and sweatshirts.  Long jeans, you will not need shorts.  I brought dress slacks for dinner, and one nice dress.

Alaska is beautiful - enjoy your cruise!
