  1. ya i would wear spandex and a workout shirt with knee pads nd u should take the forms to the high school camp. good luck with vball!!!

  2. I have been playing for 5 years so take my advise. It depends on how good the other players are trying out. If your school has a Jv and Varsity team, and you have only took a basic skills camp, you will probably be on JV for a year then you will be varsity next year. But it really depends on what positions the coachs say need to be filled and the talent of yourself and the others.

    What to wear:

Spandex help me because you dont have flappy shorts getting in your way and when you dive for a ball, you slide a little bit. But they do give you wegies like no other!

Knee Pads- I would wear these if nothing else because they are gonna have you diving for balls and it will hurt BAD if you go on the ground without them. Bruised and busted up knees...dont sound fun.

Tennis Shoes if you dont have volleyball shoes.

We have to bring our forms to the tryouts or they wont let us try out so i suggest you do the same.

BRING LOTS OF WATER. THEY ARE GOING TO WORK YOU TO GET RID OF ALL THE WIMPS! U DONT WANT TO DEHYDRATE....OR GET SICK. THAT WILL GET YOU KNOCKED OUT FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope this helps!

  3. well i would wear you knee pads and things so incase you have to dig. and always bring a good additude! just try your best and if you dont make it don't get upset. there is always next year [possibly]

  4. Bring water and sport-water. Two straight bottles of sport-water could "burn" you out so that be careful not to "only" drink those.

Bring extra T-shirt and shoes if you have any. You'll never know when you would need them. Towel is optional but very helpful, expecially for girls. Boys can use their T-shirt they are wearing, but you can use your extra T-shirt for the same purpose.

Having mentioned all those, I believe attitude is more important than anything else. Bring your effort, show you dedication by going after "loose ball", covering the court with good footwork in defense, and going up and down for block-pass-hit-block when you are in front row. Call the ball loudly when necessary, and high-five your teammates...

  5. extra t-shirts

    extra shorts

    knee pads

    spandex shorts

  6. Your should bring:

    Spandex V-Ball Shorts

A Loose T Shirt or Workout Top

    Waterbottle

    Tennis Shoes (athletic not Skater)

    Knee Pads

    A good Attitude

You're 5'8'' so I'm guessing you have potential to be an amazing hitter...you'd just have to work at it. Volleyball is all about moving to the ball and make sure you CALL IT!!! That's very importaint. Have fun and work really hard...I think you can make it

  7. the sports eligibility forms were due the first day of school for me, but that all depends on your team.  If you have it, bring it in your bag just in case.  Just take it out if the coach asks for it.  I like wearing spandex to vball.  Shorts get in the way.  If you have spandex, wear them.  If not, shorts are fine.  Wear a shirt that doesn't show too much.  When i see people with a skin tight shirt on the first day of try-outs when i've never seen them before, i don't have much confidence in them.  Some people just think vball is to wear the least amount of clothes possible.  Just stay comfortable.  I always wore different shoes in than the ones i'd play in because it's hot in the summer and you shouldn't wear vball shoes out of the gym, but that's a personal preference.  Just make sure you get there early to be changed into your shoes before it's time to start.  If the team had a good record last year, you may want to get there 15-20 minutes early.  Usually, if they went undefeated or close to it, they start warming up before practise starts.  Also, bring lots of water.  (Shoes and water can be kept in your bag so you have an excuse to bring the bag to hide your forms in for just in case.)  If you decide to not bring a bag, just call the coach or a friend or the school to find out if you should bring it with you.  Keep lots of energy and put all of it into vball.  As long as you show the coach you are willing to try that hard, you should make the team.  Good luck and HAVE FUN!!

  8. Well, for one thing be ready to sweat because you want to work hard and impress the coach. and remember, its not how hard you play its your desire and passion for the sport. For the club uniform, its spandex, kneepads, ankle braces if you have weak ankles, wear you hari up(again major sweating), comfortable and flexible shoes, and a big shirt. Thats what i wear to club and other practies

  9. yes wear spandex it keeps you cooler than other things! also never go without wearing kneepads i went to camp all week for jv and varsity! i have been playing for 3 years so i know this stuff! and wear thicker socks cause i didn't do that yesterday and i got 2 blisters! yeah if you try hard and have a good attitude you will definately make it! just push yourself and just be positive about all the drills!!!! take your forms to tryouts~!!!!
