What documents/agreement do I need to transfer house title for amount of money?

Hi,

Me and my ex-girl friend bought a house together last year, but we end out going our separate ways now. She agrees to sell me her half share of the house for a amount of money. Can someone provide me or tell me where I can get a document for me? I want to get this on paper so she cannot back-out and waste my time to re-fin and get funds.

You can use a "quit claim deed" so that she signs all of her rights over to you.  You can get a blank quit claim deed at an office supply store or library or you could find a form online.  The deed would then need to be completed and filed at your local county clerk's or recorder's office where they would record the transfer for a small fee.

Also, check with your mortgage company to make sure there are no negative financial ramifications for you because there is sometimes a stipulation that the entire mortgage becomes due upon transfer of title.
