What documents are needed to renew a driver's license in Michigan?

do they ask for a SS#, do you have to go to the MDS or can you fill out a form by mail?

your previous license, proof of registration and proof of insurance. :) and usually you can do it by mail, yes. that's only if you have a really clean driving record usually.

it says on the renewal form you are mailed if you can renew by mail. if you can you just mail the slip and a check. if not, you have to go into the secretary of state with the slip, your id that will expire and money to pay them.

in indiana they ask us for two pieces of ID...or birth certificate and ID...anything with your picture and your name (school ID, work ID)....to renew license you have to take a written test...yes you have to come in...no mail....BMV is not easy like that
