What does 'Nihao' mean?

I see this word while watching the Olympics.

It's chinese. I think it some kind of greeting, means "How are you."

Literally, it means "You good". It is used to mean "hello". "How are you doing?" would be "Ni hao ma".

It means "Hello" in mandarin Chinese, and if you add "ma" to it, it becomes "How are you?"

A typical conversation would go like this...

A: Ni Hao!

B: Ni Hao! Ni Hao ma?

A: Hao (good).
