What does 'high school drama' mean, and how do you avoid it?

thebourn is right, don't let whatever others want affect your life.

Get a part time job and learn some interpersonal communication skills.  This will give sou some advantages that the others won't have and lead you into better jobs when highschool is over.

It is not wrong to have a little fun though.

Don't subscribe to it! To heck with extracurriculars (sports, clubs, meetings, groups, etc), make money in your off hours at a part time job. While your peers are driving each other crazy over who is the coolest, who is dating whom, gossiping about what classmates are hooking up with other classmates, you will be far ahead of them, making money! Then you can buy all the clothes and cool stuff you could ever want to get while they all get left in the dust spinning their wheels in the dust, while you do something useful in your life, plus you will gain skills that are useful AFTER high school. Here is a little tip: after high school, no one cares how cool you were, or how awesome your car was or how many people you dated, or how terrific you were at sports, because none of those 'talents' actually translate into paying jobs.

High school drama is basically anything stupid that's stressing you out.

Just focus on getting good grades over everything else.... that's how you avoid it.

Basically its a chain of relationship problems.  Ex.

Suzy broke up with Chad who is best friends with Mike.  Now Mike likes Suzy but you can't go out with a friends ex.  So Mike goes with Jane to the dance, only because she can't have Suzy.  When Jane finds this out, she breaks up.  Chad also finds out and now is angry with Mike for liking her.  Etc.

You can avoid it by... idk... it depends if your friends are like Chad and Mike, or if they don't really care who you date.
