  1. "mein Herr" : 'my sir', 'my mister', 'my gentleman', 'my master/lord' (old fashioned), 'my God/Lord'

"Ja, mein Herr." = 'Yessir.' (standard usage between strangers)

"Meine Damen und Herren…" : 'Ladies and Gentlemen ...'

"Mein Herr und mein Gott… " : 'My Lord and my God' (John 20:28 )

  2. It means like "Sir," at the beginning of something like a letter. But literally it is "My sir" or "My gentleman" haha

  3. Herr is just the german form of Mister, So, I guess it could be loosely translated as "My Gentleman?" "My Mister" doesn't really make sense in english......

  4. "Mein Herr" is kind of a honorific address.

It means "Sir", or even "Master" (servile).

It's somewhat antiquated, so you won't hear "Mein Herr" in daily conversations.

If you're talking about the song "You have to understand the

way I am, Mein Herr ..." then the expression "Mein Herr" has the religious meaning of "My Lord".
