  1. Pigs are mammals aren't they?

Red meat as the name states is meat that is red in colour. It also has a high iron content and includes beef, lamb & mutton, goat and the reddest of all (that I have personally seen) is kangaroo. I am sure that there are other animals that people in the world eat, but the above are the commercial ones, in australia anyway.

  2. The most common understanding of 'red meat' is meat that are darker- colored, such as duck, beef, mutton or horse meat, as opposed to 'white meat' which are meat such as pork, rabbit and chicken. Red meat is said to be more unhealthy than white meat largely due to its higher saturated fat content as compared to white meat.

  3. It refers to the colour of the meat such as Beef ,Lamb Venison,Kangaroo. as opposed to white meat such as Chicken & Turkey.

  4. Because it's red meat beef - lamb.  oposed to white meat - chicken / fish /pork

  5. Look at a peice of raw beef, now look at some raw chicken. Which is redder?? Beef is called red meet because its red when raw, Chicken is called, well poultry I suppose... haha

  6. Because it is red and it is meat.

  7. Red meat in culinary terminology refers to meat which is red-colored when raw, while in nutritional terminology, it refers to meat from mammals.
