Question:

What does 'to roll ones beer' mean?

I ordered a beer stubby at a motel bar and the guy asked me if I'd like it rolled... having never heard the term before, I said yes and watched what he did. All he did was give me a glass with it. So, is rolling a beer the act of pouring it into a glass rather than drinking it from the stubby?

  1. What kind of beer was it?  If it was a wheat or a Tucher rolling a beer would make sense to me.  These beers typically have sediment on the bottom and you roll the last 1/10 of the beer between your hands till it foams and then pour into the glass.
