Hi Claire,

Zainab is most likely derived from the language 'Farsi' spoken in and around modern day Iran, so no doubt possibly not of Arabic origin. It's possible though that the name 'Zainab' has leanings towards reverence to someone of high esteem somewhere in middle eastern history.
