  1. A.M.

1762, abbreviation of Latin - ante meridiem "before noon."

    P.M.

abbreviation of Latin - post meridiem "after noon" (1647).

  2. A.M. and P.M. stands for A.M = Amplitude Modulation P.M. = Phase Modulation

It is just easier to say A.M = After Midnight. P.M. = Past Midday

  3. both are latin.

ante meridian means before the middle (or noon) and post meridian meas after the middle (after noon) =)

  4. "AM” stands for the Latin phrase Ante Meridiem —which means “before noon”—and “PM” stands for  Post  Meridiem   which means “after noon.” :]
