What does American English sound like to the rest of the world?

I am from the US and I want to know what does our version of the English language sound like to other English speaker?

I've heard many of my Dutch friends say it is loud and obnoxious.

But I come from Western Florida myself, so I don't know. I personally don't think our US English is obnoxious, but it is kinda loud.

umm...im not a native english speaker,but i guess i can answer that for u.

i think the american accent sounds really beautiful.i have studied the phonology of american english and i really like it.it's cute...so to speak!

but sometimes when im watching american movies,it's really annoying that i can only hear the middle of a sentence! the first part and the end are totally chewed.

It can sound annoying,loud,primitiv and stupid

but sometimes funny

it depends who speaks

a stupid girl will sound stupid

an intelligent person will sould pretty intelligent

When I was in Germany, they said it sounded like we have hot potatoes in our mouths when we speak! And whenever they would imitate, in exaggeration maybe, and it's really how they percieve it...But to me it sounded like they trying to portray the Staten Island accent!

Also, we're much louder-but that's a cultural thing.
