  1. As I said in my other answer, Antony cared little at that point, for his dead leader/ ONE TIME MENTOR. What he cared about was something similar to what happens in Politics today,,,"Plausible Deni ability."

       He had betrayed one who most trusted him, in Egypt, NOW wanted to distance himself from any perception of involvement in the assassination.

       Antony may have been perceived, INITIALLY as a HERO of Rome, but not by the BOSS, and certainly not in his own mind.
