Question:

What does BAtted area mean?

I have wanted to no this for about 5 years does it mean (mostly on buildings being prepared for destruction)

  1. Batted could mean the insulation installed was "batted" or put in in pieces with a paper cover on 1 side.


  2. The term Batted refers to the present use. A bullding that is batted means it has no futher use as designed and proposed,  just as a batted ball in baseball has no futher use until it hits something, a player, a glove, a fence, a person in the stands..

    So A gas station standing empty is batted from being a gas station until it is enspected and meets all safety and building codes (assumeing it has been empty for the required time to become "batted").

  3. Not positive, without some additional information to let me know what kind of application you are referring to---this term "USUALLY" is a referance to a certain type of building insulation,or the way in which it is installed.
