  1. Officially it does not stand for anything but it could be said to be City to Coast as in London to Shoeburyness


  2. City to Coast. (unofficially)

    The name is on borrowed time. National Express are rebranding all their bus and rail operations. 'one' is to become 'National Express East Anglia' later this week. C2C will undoubtly follow

    BTW 'one' unofficially stands for Owned by National Express, an unsubtle up yours to First (who dispite being 'operator of the year' had been disqualified from bidding)

  3. City to Coast (if it means anything) - certainly not City to City as some answers suggest. However, in line with what National Express (the parent company) are doing with other weird railway company names it has, I think this is to be changed to something a little more meaningful
