What does Co-Rec stand for?

I'm trying to join a program over the fall but a lot of them say:

Gender: Co-Rec

What does this mean?

It's short for co-recreational, as coed is short for co-educational. It means either s*x may join.

I think it means that either gender may participate.  In fact, if this is a sports team that has both men and women on it, there may be requirements for equal numbers of each gender on the field at any one time.  My husband was on a co-ed softball team, but if enough of the women did not show up, I ended up having to play so they could field a team.
