What does DTS® (Digital Theater System) 2-Channel Decoding means?

I recently bought a Pioneer DVD player (DV-400 1080p Upscaling) - I noticed on the specs as above on the player's audio features. Does this mean that I can't get the true 5.1 DTS sound if I have a home theater system with the appropriate setup?

  1. Most probably it means, that if you use analog out, it can decode 2 channels from DTS. However, you can always pass the digital audio to a receiver and get all 6 channels.
