I know this is going to sound awfully stupid, but I've always been in the dark about the meaning of GPA. I know it means grade point average, but does GPA only refer to your senior year? or Junior? Or all four years added up and then averaged? 0.o Thanks

  1. It is all four years added up, then average. For example, let's say you had a 2.8,3.0, 3.8, and a 4.0 for each grade level completed. For your entire four years of high school, your grade point average would be a 3.33.

  2. Grade point average

  3. grade point average,  it adds up over all 4 years

    A= 4 points

    b= 3 points

    c= 2 points

    d= 1 point

    f=0 points

    if you add up your grades based on the point system above and divide by the number of grades you have your GPA.

  4. In my experience your GPA is all of your grades you have earned over the course of school enrollment in a particular school (i.e. high school or college).  Your school may have a yearly or semester GPA and then an overall GPA (my guess however is that they just go by an overall GPA.)

  5. it means grade point average. It is used in almost every grade. If your gpa is 4.0, u have all A's.3.0=means B's. 2.0 C's and so on. It can be confusing but u should have it as high as possible if u want nice grades.
