  1. Gwylfa in welsh means "unkempt hedgerow"

  2. It can have several meanings, but the one that comes to mind first is; "gwyl" for "festival/fun" and "fa[n]" for "place" so therefore a festival site, which could be a concert, county show or funfair.....

  3. In Welsh, it means ~look out point~.

It's welsh for a place a sentry or observer may be positioned. It also indicates a place with a good view on a map

  7. It means a look out point.

  8. Gwylfa is indeed Welsh and suggests a sentry point like a watch tower or hilltop post.

  10. i live in wales but im not welsh but yeah that word is welsh but im not sure what it means lol

  11. I wish I knew darling, it's such a pre-historic language. Thanks for the points anyway and good luck with finding someone who speaks the ancient tongue.

  12. This is the 'Complete Welsh-English Dictionary' definition :-

Gwylfa (plural gwylfâu, gwylfeydd)....lle i wylio, cyfnod o wylio, watching place (look out point), a watch ( as in a sentry's watch).

Gwylfa is also an archaic word for a festival or feast.

I'd rather believe 'Y Geiriadur Mawr' than 'Paws 4 thawts'.

  13. Ti'n Gywir , Your correct basically Gwylio means to look, Fa is put on the end of Words to emphasise their places for example

Gwylfan is what i would use for look out place but Gwylfa is also correct.
