Specifically in the equation E = m*g*h

What does the H represent? I know the M is mass and G is gravity.

  1. Ep= potential energy or workdone

    equal to mgh

    m=mass

    g=gravity

    h=height

  2. h is height (in metres) in the equation mgh, specifically the distance of the object from earth, since mgh is used to calculate GPE (gravitational potential energy).

    But of course it can also be referred to hour in speed (km/h).

  3. h= height of the object from the ground.

  4. In this equation for gravitational potential energy it is the height of some mass, m under a gravitational acceleration, g.

  5. In your equation it represents height, there are other uses in several branches of physics.

  6. it represent the height or the distance you can say..

    its actually the potential energy equation so the h has to refer height or distance from the zero level..
