What does Hinduism truly have to say about the notorious caste system?

Caste system purpose is to assign different tasks (professions) to different set of people so that they gain expertise in that field & able to serve the society better.

But now-a-days these politicians use this as they like & bunch of mad people follow this & think  what politicians say is true. This called Vote-Politics.

But the actual scriptures say ALL are equal (in fact it includes all living beings).

There is no relation ship between Spirituality & Caste System, but there exists direct relation ship between:

> Caste system & Politics         ->  now-a-days,

> Caste system & Profession   ->  Once upon a time.

Adding to what Vijay said, at the beginning it was very fluid, which was how it was intended to be, but later it only remained fluid for one group, women.
