  1. It means that the barrels are made using the "Damasqus Steel" methoe in which strips of steel ssre "hammer welded" around a form to make the barrel. This method is not used in modern guns, as it is quite weak compared to modern barrels. Guns with "laminated steel" barrels should NOT be fired.
