What does Long John Silver's food taste like?

I'm 24 & still never tried it. Is it good? Many people love it.

long john silver was a pirate, so he ate fish, like most  pirates any fish not just top shelf expensive fish ,so hope that tells you what its like.

Hi Question Queen,

My Mom and I would eat at Long John Silver's about once a month.  She loved the fish and I loved the chicken.  Their Cole Slaw was the Best in town.  Although the food is deep fried and a bit on the "greasy" side, it's very flavorful.

Most of the Long John Silver's in my Mom's area and my area have closed.  It's due to most of the population migrating farther south where the large shopping malls are located.

I like it but I always but the fish on a napkin to press out some of the grease first. They have baked fish also and in the winter a delicious clam chowder. Don't forget the malt vinegar because that really makes the meal

Everyone is right, it is really greasy, but I am in the rare and like it.  Granted, I haven't had it in years because we had one near us when I was in college, then when I graduated I moved south and there aren't any in Myrtle Beach.  But I used to love the chicken, fries and the slaw was the best!  I guess it depends on how your stomach handles grease whether or not you like it.

I think it is pretty good for fast food. It is pretty much all fried (which is good sometimes).

Its fried everything, to be honest its really greasy and doesn't sit to good in the stomach. The fries are like cafe fries, the hush puppies are really good. Everything is really salty...

I enjoy going to  Long John Silver's (LJS.)  I'm not a fish person but I love the chicken and fried clams.  I also like their Hush Puppies.  You should try it sometime.

It tastes like grease and thick breading crust.  Seriously, I want to like them, but they ruin everything they serve by putting a half inch of greasy crust on it.  Blech.

its very good, but expensieve.  All it is, is fried fish.

it has a wierd greasy taste (you can wring out the grease,at most of the stores) its not bad, just different. but be perpared to spend the night on the "john", cause of all that grease... the slaw is really good there though. guess you will have to go try it.  good luck.. get a package of tums or peto.
